About Us

In collaboration with the Pathos Project, Compassionate Care in Medicine (CCIM) is a club at the University of Notre Dame which acts as an extension to provide an outlet for future medical personnel to discuss compassion and personalism in medicine. CCIM is advised by Dr. Dominic Vachon, director of the Hillebrand Center for Compassionate Care in Medicine. Through coordinating a regular series of dialogues between student members and guest physicians, CCIM educates its members on pertinent issues in practical and personal patient care. CCIM also encourages volunteer work at local sites where members can practice compassionate care towards individuals in the community.
This blog aims to act as a forum and extension of CCIM by hosting different perspectives of experiences in the medical field. In order to diversify the blog's perspective, we open our blog to undergraduates, graduate student, medical researchers, the Notre Dame alumni network, the partnerships between Notre Dame, Holy Cross, and Saint Mary's, and the South Bend community.
